My story

I gave my life to Jesus Christ and sensed His call to ministry in 2006. I’d love to tell you I answered with immediate clarity and unwavering confidence. I did not. I loved Jesus, and I also spent a few years negotiating the fine print — wrestling with surrender, obedience, and what it would actually cost to trust Him with everything. In 2011, God graciously (and a little stubbornly) brought me to a place of deeper surrender, and I began walking more intentionally in the power of the Holy Spirit toward the life and ministry He’d been preparing all along.

Since then, my story has been anything but polished. God has used joy, disappointment, growth, failure, uncertainty, and no shortage of moments where I clearly did not have it together to shape me into the leader I am today. I’m still learning, still growing, still being formed — which is a nice way of saying I’m not finished. My greatest passion is helping people become who God created them to be. Whether I’m serving as a pastor, coaching a leader, or encouraging a church or organization, I love helping people discover their purpose, grow in holy love, and build healthier, more flourishing lives. I’m convinced real transformation happens as we follow Jesus, invest deeply in others, and stay humble enough to keep growing.

Off the clock, my main titles are husband and dad. My wife and our two boys keep life loud, funny, unpredictable, and deeply humbling. The family photos on this page tell the truth better than I can: someone is usually looking the wrong way, someone is plotting an escape, and the shot never turns out how I pictured it. Which is a fair summary of life, really — messy, imperfect, and beautiful in ways you usually don’t notice until later.

When I get some free time, I’m a relentless reader — mysteries, leadership, theology, psychology, history, and whatever else I can justify buying (my wish list is a cry for help). I also love biking, camping, defending my honor on the Nintendo Switch, building LEGO sets far too slowly, maintaining a podcast queue I will never finish, and thinking my best thoughts over a Strawberry Refresher at my local Starbucks. I’m a lifelong learner by nature, but I’m also learning that growth isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about staying open, staying faithful, and making the most of the life God has entrusted to me.
